President Voludmir Zelinski said on Saturday that the Ukrainian forces are still strengthening the Russian and North Korean forces in the Russian Kursk region, but they are facing a possible new attack on the northeastern Sumi region in Ukraine.

Military analysts say that Russia is close to removing the Ukrainian forces from a foothold for months in the Russian West, which prompted US President Donald Trump to warn that thousands are “completely surrounded.”

In a statement on social media after being informed by his supreme general, Zelenskyy said that Kyiv’s forces were not surrounded in Corsak, but Moscow was accumulating the nearby forces for a separate strike.

“This indicates an intention to attack the Sumina region,” he said. “We are aware of this, and we will face it.”

“I would like to understand all our partners (exactly what Putin is planning, what he is preparing for, and what will ignore him.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin said on Thursday that in principle, Trump’s suggestion for a 30 -day ceasefire with Ukraine was supported, but he will fight until several decisive conditions were set.

On Saturday, British Prime Minister Kerr Starmer told a meeting of European leaders and other allies that they would need to increase Putin’s pressure to accept the ceasefire.

Starmer said that Britain could be sent to peaceful members to Ukraine in the event of a ceasefire, but he called on Washington to provide the security “Backstop” to these forces, a measure believed to be necessary to deter Putin from the attack again.

He told the participants at a meeting on Saturday that they, too, should be ready to defend any deal.

“This means strengthening Ukraine so that they can defend themselves … in terms of military ability, in terms of financing, in terms of providing more support from us all to Ukraine, (secondly, preparing to defend any deal through an alliance of those wishing.”

“The accumulation of Russian forces indicates that Moscow intends to continue to ignore diplomacy,” Zelinski added. “It is clear that Russia extends the war.”

In his statement, he also said that placing the battlefield near the eastern city of Boukerrovsk “settled”, and that Ukraine has successfully used a long -range missile that was produced locally in the fighting.
