Zelensky emphasizes the active Ukraine forces in the Russian region

Ukrainian President Folodimir Zelinski publicly admitted for the first time that his forces were active in the Russian region of Beljorod.

He said on Monday: “We are still carrying out active operations in the border areas on the enemy’s lands, and this is completely fair – the war must return to the place from which it came.”

His comments also referred to the Russian Cursk region, where Ukraine is still carrying a small space after a big attack last year. Moscow has since recovered most of the lands.

Zelinski said that the “main target” is to protect the Somrin Sumi and the border areas of Somerin and the border of the border, and “reduce pressure” on other parts of the vast front line, especially in the eastern Donetsk region.

Last month, the Russian army reported Ukrainian attempts to cross into the Baljuod region – but he said that such attacks had been rejected.

Russian President Vladimir Putin launched a large -scale invasion of Ukraine in 2022, and Moscow is currently controlling about 20 % of Ukraine.

In his late video address on Monday, Zelinski said that he was briefed by his supreme commander, General Olikander Serski, about the situation on the front, including our presence in the Corsak and Baljuroud regions.

Zelensky thanked many army units that defend Ukraine, including the 225 -bound assault regiment in Beljorod.

“Well done, guys! I am proud of everyone fighting for Ukraine!” The president said.

Not provided more details. This is his first explicit recognition of the Ukrainian forces in Bluev.

On March 18, Zelinski indirectly confirmed that the Ukrainian forces were there.

Russia said that all Ukrainian attempts to advance towards the villages of Deidovka and Prieseye have been rejected, and a border raid was prevented.

However, many Russian military bloggers reported at that time fighting in Demidovka itself, which is about 1.2 miles from the Ukrainian border.

“The Ukrainian forces recently advanced in Baljuod,” said the United States -based war institute (ISW) (ISW).

ISW said: “The Russian Milbloggers claimed that the Ukrainian forces had advanced and strengthened positions in the suburbs of Demidovka and Prieseye,” adding that such allegations were not confirmed.

In the past two days, Russian military bloggers stated that the Ukrainian forces are withdrawing from the Demidovka area.

It is believed that the Ukraine operation in Beljorod was much smaller compared to its actions in Corsak, where Kiev at some point seized a number of villages, including the regional city of Soda.

Zelensky and his senior leaders have repeatedly said that such incursions forced Moscow to restore the deployment of forces from the Donetsk region, where the Russian forces were fixed – although they were slow – in recent months.

Ukraine can also hope to exchange Russian regions that it keeps for parts of the Ukrainian regions that Moscow occupies in any future peace negotiations paid by the United States.
