Aggregate review site Yelp has unveiled a new feature that uses artificial intelligence and customer reviews to evaluate popular aspects of nightlife and food-related businesses. The new Review Insights feature is now available on the iOS version of the Yelp app, according to .
Review Insights aggregates customer reviews and feeds them into a large language model (LLM), which will assign specific aspects — such as liveliness or service time — a rating out of 100. It will supposedly be able to infer customers’ sentiments about these parts of the business “even when the review doesn’t indicate explicitly to one of the topics.” Yelp will also add an AI-powered homepage in the coming weeks.
