The leader of the 2023 coup, Price Oligoy Nujima, wins a ground victory in Gabon.
General Baris Oligoy Ngwima just won the elections on Saturday in Gabon, and will lead the country over the next seven years.
Gabon is among the seven western and central African countries, where the army has seized power in recent years.
When the army overthrew the president there in 2023, he finished 56 years of Bongo’s rule.
The winner, Nujima, is the army general who led this military acquisition.
Now he says he will attend democratic changes and reforms.
But can he fulfill his promises?
