Following the death of his wife Samantha in March 2024, Warwick has now filed a lawsuit against a London hospital he believes is responsible for her tragic death.

According to Daily MailThe actor also engaged the services of the law firm Irwin Mitchell and specialist lawyer Madeleine Nugent, who will investigate the possibility of medical negligence, which the 54-year-old linked to the death of his wife.

Samantha initially fell ill with sepsis in 2019 after undergoing surgery to relieve pressure on her spine which was performed at University College London Hospital.

Sepsis then led to intensive care treatment, which the actress ultimately did not survive.

To further investigate the circumstances of Samantha’s death, an inquest was recently held at Inner West London Coroner’s Court.

However, before any evidence could be presented, the Warwick family’s lawyer, William Chapman, applied for an adjournment due to the actor’s availability.

The actor was supposed to connect remotely to conduct the investigation but encountered technical issues on his end, which could not be resolved.

In submitting his petition, Chapman said the hearing should be postponed, because the representative’s absence meant he could not fully follow or contribute to the investigation process.

In response, Assistant Coroner Jan Harkin granted the request, saying she believed the actor “would most likely wish to be part of this investigative process.”

She added: “At the next hearing, I will make sure that there is nothing in my diary that day… I will give it a full day when I relist (the investigation).”

Chapman also asked the court to conduct the inquest remotely again when a new date is set “as soon as possible.”

The couple first met on the set of Warwick’s 1988 film “Willow,” in which Samantha played an uncredited role.

After a few years of dating, they married in 1991 and had three children: Lloyd, Harrison and Annabelle. However, Lloyd died only nine days after his birth.

The couple remained together until Samantha’s death, marking more than 33 years of marriage.

Hence, it was no surprise that Warwick wrote that the actress’s death “left a huge hole in our lives as a family” in his tribute to her.

Warwick also alluded to their close relationship, describing her as his “most trusted confidant and enthusiastic supporter of everything I’ve done in my career.”
