Wargaming is an online game developer and publisher headquartered in Nicosia, Cyprus. Wargaming has been in business since 1998 and has grown into one of the gaming industry’s leading companies with 15 offices around the world. This game was made in Wargaming’s office in Guildford, UK.
“It’s been a long time since we’ve announced anything that isn’t a ‘world,’” MacDonald said in an interview with GamesBeat. “In the beta, everyone can join and play the game. We’re very excited. I think we have something really cool and unique here.
The team is building the game on Unreal Engine 5 for PC first as a third-person shooter that pulls elements from hero shooters, battle royale games, and extraction shooters. The game will be released first on Wargaming Game Center and Steam, with console versions coming later.

In Steel Hunters, players control mechanical giants, called Hunters. They are actually mechanical because they have their own personality. They are actually people fused with robots. They play in dual PvPvE battles with six teams of two.
There are extensive customization options in and out of the match. The game takes place in a post-apocalyptic world, and the player’s goal is to protect Starfall. Starfall is similar to New World oil.
“It helps humanity survive post-apocalypse in underground facilities or in space facilities,” MacDonald said.
The battle will test players’ tactical skills. The second big pillar is dual symbiosis, where a two-person team can collaborate deeply. You’ll start the game with seven anglers, each eight to 15 meters tall.
The third-person shooter has a more deliberate pace to give players enough time to make good tactical decisions. Resource management will be crucial, and there are a limited number of repair kits that mechanics can carry. Ammo is limited. Towers appear on the map and provide focal points for PvP clashes to occur. Hunters can be modified in different ways.
The Trenchwalker Hunter is a combat model with an assault rifle that fires bursts. Machines can blast through buildings. Each map resembles an entire neighborhood. There is vertical progression and a technology tree where players can assign skill points and select options for mechanical customization.
Wargaming has put a lot of effort into making games, some of which have been canceled along the way for various reasons. Steel Hunters has been operating for a few years with a team of 210 people based in Guildford and Prague.
In the game’s future, Earth becomes uninhabitable. A large meteorite hits the planet and this material called Starfall rains from the sky. There are certain people in the universe who are immune to the effects.
There could be an esports element over time, but only if players embrace the title in a big way. The interest has to be there first, Dan Tanisescu, director of publishing at Wargaming, said in an interview.
