Usyk talks about a “secret plan” to eliminate Fury in a rematch

Oleksandr Usyk says he has “secret” Plan for a rematch with Tyson Fury on Saturday night. It is reported that he and his team watched his fight with Fury (34-1-1, 24 KOs) last May and developed a game plan against him.

Usyk may not need a secret plan to defeat Fury because he looks so exhausted this week. It seemed that Gypsy King Fury was torturing himself during the training camp, and may have overdone his preparations. It affected Fury mentally, as he lost for the first time.

Unified heavyweight champion Usyk (22-0, 14 KOs) has neutralized the striking tactics Fury has been using so effectively in many of his recent fights in the past four years since adding the SugarHill Steward as his trainer. This strategy involves grasping and leaning.

He failed to work against Usyk and Francis Ngannou, matches in which Fury struggled. As he grew older, Fury became more dependent on striking in order to win his fights.

“I will fire him. I will give Turk what I promised him in May. I will cook a rabbit in his kitchen,” Tyson Fury said during an interview today. Major arrivals for his fight against unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk on Saturday night. “And the new one.”

Usyk: ‘I have a secret’ to anger

“It will be a great fight. I feel like I will win,” Usyk said. “Same again because it’s my plan. Maybe we have a new (plan), because I worked. We know little because we have seen the fighting. “I have a new secret.”

Fury looked physically exhausted today during the Grand Arrivals event, suggesting he may have shed a lot of weight quickly. He didn’t have that look in the first fight seven months later again, and you have to wonder if he went too far in training camp.

They called Fury’s camp “prison”, and he is said to have trained with Moses Itauma, among many other players. Did they take something away from Fury, leaving behind the gaunt, elderly giant we saw this week? If Fury loses the rematch, he will have a good excuse to tell the fans, blaming the hype in training camp.

A second defeat for Fury will spoil Turki Al-Sheikh’s plans for a three-way match between them. Turki asked Fury this week to “do the job” against Usyk, which is easier said than done. If you watched the ninth round of the first fight, it is almost impossible for Fury to win without the referee stepping in to prevent Usyk from knocking him out.
