Pakistan national cricket team leg-spinner Usman Qadir, who recently announced his retirement from Pakistan cricket, is planning to move to Australia. According to reports in Pakistani media, he learned that he had taken the step for a better future.
Usman, the son of Pakistani great Abdul Qadir, announced his retirement from Pakistan cricket in October last year out of frustration. This was because he did not have the opportunity to play for the Pakistan national cricket team and was also not allowed to play in other leagues.

Qadir represents the Pakistan national cricket team in one ODIs and 25 T20Is. His last match for the team, captained by Mohammad Rizwan, came against South Africa at Centurion where he took a wicket before announcing his retirement from Pakistan cricket.
Since moving to Australia, Osman has played for South Australia. He has also played for Perth Scorchers and Adelaide Strikers in the Big Bash League apart from representing the Australian Prime Minister’s XI. According to reports, the main reason behind his move is to play cricket in Australia.
Usman Qadir will soon move his family to Australia as well. Earlier, he was planning to return to Pakistan from Australia as per the wishes of his late father, Abdul Qadir. The leg-spinner has settled there and is now in New South Wales, playing for the Hawkesbury club in Sydney.

Speaking about his move to Australia, Usman Qadir said that cricket is his livelihood and he moved to Australia for his future. He said he wants to continue his father’s legacy and hopes to get good opportunities. He said:
“Cricket is my livelihood, and I came to Australia with a plan for my future. I am optimistic and determined to only have good opportunities in cricket. As I step into this new chapter, I will continue my father’s legacy, embracing my love for cricket and the lessons he instilled in me.”

Usman Kadir will be keen to explore more opportunities in Australia, and if he obtains citizenship there, he is expected to be available for selection for the Australia national cricket team. It remains to be seen what the future holds for him.
Overall in his career, Qadir played 13 matches for FC, taking 31 wickets at an average of nearly 18. He also played 49 List A matches, picking 48 wickets to take three five-wicket hauls. In 107 T20s, he has picked up 112 wickets at an economy of around 7.
