Upcoming Star Trek movies and TV shows you need to know about

In the past seven years, there has been an abundance of positive “Star Trek” films introduced to the world. Just as UPN launched with the debut of “Star Trek: Voyager” in 1995, the new streaming service CBS All Access launched with the debut of “Star Trek: Discovery” in 2017. To prove that they can have a good time, they released the animated comedy “Star Trek: Lower Decks.” For young audiences, they released the animated series “Star Trek: Prodigy”. And because some old guest characters had such success in Season 2 of “Discovery,” Paramount gave them their own spinoff with “Star Trek: Strange New Worlds.” There was a brief period when all six of these shows were shown simultaneously.

However, as of this writing, five of the six shows have ended. Currently only “Strange New Worlds” remains. As of this writing, Star Trek: Lower Decks has just wrapped, and Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is gearing up for its third season, scheduled to debut in the first months of 2025.
