Ukraine says it seized two Chinese soldiers fighting for Russia in the Donetsk region

Ukraine President Voludmir Zelinski announced on Tuesday that the Ukrainian army had seized two Chinese men fighting with the Russian army in the eastern Donetsk area.

Zelinski said that a clash with Chinese soldiers fell near the villages of Tarasivka and Balohourvka in the Donetsk area, where six Chinese military personnel participated in the Ukrainian forces.

Zelinski noted that the North Korean soldiers who were previously arrested were fighting in the Corsak region of Russia, where the Ukrainian forces seized the lands, while the Chinese were arrested on Ukrainian lands.

Ukraine has information that there is a “much more Chinese” fighting alongside the Russians in more than three years of war, Zelinski said, said, Publish a video of one of the men taken on X. He added that Ukraine plans to “contact Beijing immediately and know how China will interact with this.”

Ukraine Foreign Minister Andrei Sipha said to X that the seizure of “China’s peaceful position and undermines the credibility of Beijing as a constant member of the United Nations Security Council.”

China has provided strong diplomatic support to Russia since it launched a wide range of its neighbor in February 2022, which was widely criticized in the West. Beijing also contributed to the economic lifeline through trade in energy and consumer goods.

However, it is not known that China has provided Russia with weapons or military experience, unlike Iran and North Korea, so that the latter provides forces, according to US officials and South Koreans.

Russia allows foreigners to recruit its army, as well as Ukraine. The salary provided by Moscow makes the service to Russia attractive.

Ukraine is not in an “imminent danger”: the United States

Meanwhile, Russia said that regaining full control of the West Cursk region after pushing the Ukrainian forces from one of the latter’s foothold there, according to the Jewevo settlement, the regional ruler and government media on Tuesday.

Russia has been trying to get the Ukrainian forces out of Corsc since August last year, after Kiev’s forces penetrated a surprise that embarrassed President Vladimir Putin, which Zelinski hopes to give him a bargaining chip in any future talks.

There was no immediate comment from Ukraine on this development.

Russia has already rejected an American proposal for an immediate and full stopping for 30 days in the fighting, and both sides are believed to be preparing a campaign in the spring, as the battlefield gains occurred more easily in the war more than the hard winter months.

Gen. Christopher Cavuli, the leader of the US -American leadership, said on Tuesday that Ukraine is in “good defense positions” and has caused large numbers of Russian losses in recent weeks.
