The Ukraine government has announced the signing of the broad lines of the metal deal with the United States.

An intention, signed on Thursday, and published by the Ukrainian government, states that countries intend to establish an investment fund to rebuild Ukraine as part of the Economic Partnership Agreement.

The goal is to finish the deal by April 26, says the memo.

The document does not provide any details of the natural resources, but the previous leaks indicated that the deal has spanned beyond minerals to control energy infrastructure in Ukraine, as well as oil and gas.

The United States has so far resisted Kiev with security guarantees to support any future ceasefire.

The memo said that “the American people want to invest alongside the Ukrainian people in Ukraine free and safe”, the United States and Ukraine “they want a permanent peace in Ukraine and a strong partnership between the two peoples and governments.”

Donald Trump’s public match with Ukrainian President Voludeimir Zellinsky at the White House in February had temporarily exploded negotiations in a deal outside the path.

Economy Minister Yulia Sferidinko The signing of the memo was announced on X. Her post included pictures of the signing of her and US Treasury Secretary Scott Pesin separately.

“We are pleased to announce the signing of our American partners, to the intention of intention, which paves the way for an economic partnership agreement and the establishment of the investment fund to rebuild Ukraine,” Safiridko wrote.

The signing of a call was made online with BESSENT, who said the details of the deal were still under work.

“This is what we had previously agreed. When the President (Zelinski) was here, we had a memorandum of understanding. We went directly to the big deal, and I think it is an 80 -page agreement and this is what we will register.”

The memo said that the technical discussions were held in Washington, DC, recently on April 11 and 12.

Trump also alluded to the deal during a press conference with Italian leader Georgia Meloni.

“We have a metal deal that I think will be signed on Thursday … next Thursday. Soon. I suppose they will rise to the level of the deal. So we will see. But we have a deal about that,” he said.

The White House did not respond to more details about the contents of the agreement, according to Reuters reports.

Previous reports indicated this A “investment box” will be created To rebuild Ukraine and will be managed by Kiev and Washington “equally”.

Ukrainian negotiators have tried to resist Trump’s demands that a joint investment fund pay the United States for previous military aid, but they apparently accepted his claim that it would help the country to recover after the war ended.

The White House argues that just the presence of American companies will prevent Russia from another aggression, but that did not succeed exactly when they invaded in 2022.

Zelensky has repeatedly called for the United States to take a stronger position in Ukraine’s support.

“The ceasefire without security guarantees is dangerous to Ukraine,” he said at the summit of European leaders last month.

On Thursday, Ukraine Foreign Minister Andrei Sibha met with Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkeov and Marco Rubio diplomat in Paris.

He said they “discussed paths to a just and permanent peace, including a full ceasefire, and multinational aircraft, and Security guarantees To Ukraine. “

Zelensky was hoping to use the deal to secure an American security guarantee in his country in the event of a ceasefire with Russia.

But the plan was out of its course in February Saddam Zelensky and Trump Hot In the White House.

The memo is a step towards a deal that would allow the United States to reach critical minerals in Ukraine, as well as oil and gas.

Kyiv estimates that about 5 % of the world’s “critical raw materials” is present in Ukraine.

Ukraine has 7 % of titanium supplies in Europe, a lightweight metal used to build everything from aircraft to power stations.

It is also home to a third of European lithium sediments, the main component of the current batteries.

Other items in Ukraine include brillium and uranium, which are both decisive to nuclear weapons and reactors.
