The Ukraine Army reported the attacks of Russian drones in several areas overnight, a few hours after the end of the “Easter truce” of 30 hours announced by Moscow.

Air Force Ukraine has issued alerts raid to the Kiev region, as well as Jacon, Dnibropterrovsk, Cherkasi, Miklav and Zaporesvia.

In the southern city of Miklav, Mayor Olikander Senkvich said, “The explosions have been heard.” It was not immediately clear if there were any victims.

The Russian army did not comment on the reported attacks. The truce announced by President Vladimir Putin ended in midnight on Sunday Moscow time (21:00 GMT). The two sides accused each other of violating the ceasefire.

In the early hours of Monday, residents of many Ukrainian cities, including the capital Kiev, were urged by the local authorities to go immediately to nearby shelters due to the threat of drones.

The BBC has not independently verified the demands of Kyiv and Moscow.

“We hope that Russia and Ukraine will clarify this week’s deal,” said US President Donald Trump – who was pressing to end the war – late on Sunday. He did not give more details.

Russia launched a large -scale invasion of Ukraine on February 24, 2022, and is currently controlling about 20 % of Ukraine, including the southern Crimea Peninsula, which was included by Moscow in 2014.

It is estimated that hundreds of thousands of people – the vast majority of them – have been killed or wounded from all sides since 2022.

Last month, Moscow reached a long list of conditions in response to a full and unconditional ceasefire that the United States and Ukraine approved.
