Trump to strike countries that buy Venezuelan oil by 25 % tariffs

Donald Trump said that the United States will impose a 25 percent tariff on all imports from any country that buys oil from Venezuela, a step that can be sharply raised on goods from China and India, and two of the largest oil buyers in Caracas.

The announcement came on Monday a few days before Trump revealed a new tariff system on commercial partners in the United States, and in the midst of a player in the chaotic trade policy that is characterized by the implications and U.

In a publication on the social truth, the US president said he imposes the new tariff for “many reasons”, claiming that “Venezuela had been intentionally sent to the United States, tens of thousands of high levels, other criminals, many of them killers and very violent people.”

The last Trump war escalation comes a few days after Caracas agreed to start receiving the degrees from immigrants who were deported from the United States, in concession to the US President.

This step risk destroying the turmoil in the oil market, which is something that has so far been keen to avoid it in an attempt to prevent the offer from raising the prices of gasoline to American car drivers.

Venezuela has exported 660,000 barrels in a day of crude worldwide, with China, India and Spain among senior buyers.

The United States itself imported about 230,000 barrels from Venezuela in 2024, making the South America the third largest resource after Canada and Mexico, according to the Federal Energy Information Management.

Trump referred to the unprecedented step as a “secondary tariff” and said it would turn into effect as of April 2, which was called “Tahrir Day”, when the mutual tariffs enter into other countries as well.

Earlier this month, the US Treasury Department canceled Chevron’s license to work in Venezuela, which is subject to decimal sanctions, ordering the California -based oil group in California to reduce its operations within 30 days.

This license allowed Chevron to export about 200,000 barrels last year, which said the democratic Vennezuela opposition to financing from the repression of the Nicholas Maduro government.

Monday’s announcement came a few days after Venezuela agreed to resume acceptance of flights carrying migrants who were deported from the United States. One trip carrying 199 people near Caracas fell on Sunday.

In recent weeks, Trump has pushed the deportation of hundreds of alleged members in the Venezuelan gang, Trine de Aragoa, which was set by the United States as a terrorist organization.

On Monday, Trump referred to the gang and said that Venezuela was “very hostile to the United States and the freedoms we adopt.”

Earlier this month, the United States deported some alleged gangs members to El Salvador, where President Nayb approved to keep them in “very good prisons at a fair price that would also provide taxpayer dollars.”

On Monday, the Ministry of Justice said that it would discharge three members of the alleged Trine de Aragua to Chile.
