Trump threatens secondary definitions on Russian oil if there is no deal on Ukraine

Donald Trump said he was “angry” with Vladimir Putin for his touring talks about the ceasefire with Ukraine, as the American president threatened secondary tariffs for Russian oil buyers if a deal was not made.

Trump’s comments on Sunday revealed frustration at the White House with the Russian president, as negotiations on the settlement of the war in Ukraine continued without a clear penetration.

The new threat to strike imports comes from countries that buy Russian oil at a time when Trump is preparing to impose a tariff on goods from many of the largest trade partners in America on Wednesday. The president declared the moment of “liberation day”, but the plan caused turmoil in the markets and anxiety between companies and governments all over the world.

Trump’s boat in Moscow is a shift in the tone of the American President, who blamed Volodimir Zelinski, the Ukrainian president, to be hesitant in concluding a deal.

The US President dismantled Putin to attack the legitimacy of Zelinski as the leader of Kyiv.

“If we are in the midst of negotiation, you can say that I was very angry, angry … when Putin started reaching Zelinski’s credibility,” Trump told NBC News. “This does not go at the right site, do you understand?”

While Ukraine agreed to the American demands for a 30-day ceasefire, Russia rejected the plan and only to the truce in relation to the targets of energy infrastructure and maritime operations in the Black Sea-and only if the West raises sanctions on some agricultural commodities.

The American president added that he would slap a “secondary tariff” on Iran if they fail to conclude a deal in its nuclear program, where he renewed his threat to “detonate” Tehran if they did not reach an agreement.
