Trump’s tariff: The Indian government is said to explore a plan to negotiate the suspension of 26 percent definitions on Indian goods until a bilateral trade agreement is completed between the two countries. BTA is expected to be completed by the autumn of 2025. At the same time, Foreign Minister Marco Rubio and Minister of Foreign Affairs S Jaishankar discussed the mutual tariff as well as the importance of BTA’s completion early.

According to a MINT report, India is preparing to increase the talks of both official and back talks with the United States. It quoted a source, who said that the government is exploring all possible ways to alleviate the possible losses of the country’s exports.

A source in the financial state said: “India has an additional advantage, as it is the only country that has been given the opportunity to follow a bilateral trade agreement with the United States.”

India can also negotiate temporary relief for a selected list of high -performance export categories, including textiles, engineering goods and electronics commodities.

Trump effects effect

PTI sources said that India has put its exporters useful compared to competitors who face higher import duties in America. They also highlighted that sectors such as Marine need to explore new markets such as the European Union to promote shipments.

India has constantly protected the dairy sector in all free trade agreements and plans to continue these guarantees. The sources noted that any American imposition of high definitions on pharmaceutical preparations will have a little effect on India. “India has emerged as a winner in the mutual definitions imposed by the United States. India has the first engine feature because it negotiates a bilateral trade agreement with America,” a source said.

In a commercial agreement, two countries usually reduce or remove import duties on most of the traded goods. In this scenario, both countries may consider reducing taxes to each other. While the United States imposed an additional import duty of 26 percent on India, competitors such as Vietnam face 46 percent, Bangladesh 37 percent, China 34 percent, Indonesia 32 percent and Thailand 36 percent.

Reports indicate that US President Donald Trump is planning to announce the customs tariff for medicines and semi -conductors soon, with unprecedented measures on pharmaceutical imports. However, the United States gave these sectors among a few duties in previous ads. The Ministry of Commerce is conducting a dialogue with exporters to address concerns, and many believe that its sectors will not be affected significantly due to the high duties of competitors.
