Fundraising campaign launched President-elect Trump To provide relief to victims of Hurricane Helen the largest fundraising campaign of 2024 was on GoFundMe, the fundraising site reported this week.
“President Trump’s Hurricane Helen fundraiser has emerged as the top fundraiser of the year on GoFundMe, raising more than $8 million to help communities affected by the hurricane thanks to overwhelming support from nearly 50,000 people in all 50 U.S. states and more 51 countries during this critical period of time,” the GoFundMe said. Details are included in the GoFundMe release 2024 is a year of help The statement added, noting that the site’s most generous giving day was October 1, “when hundreds of thousands of people around the world supported families and businesses affected by Hurricane Helen.”
A GoFundMe spokesperson told FOX Business that donations from Trump’s fundraiser were “securely delivered to trusted nonprofits on the ground, including Samaritan’s Purse, Water Mission, and Sweetwater Mission, to assist in recovery and rebuilding efforts.”

The fundraiser, launched by the Trump campaign on September 30, raised more than $1 million on its first day after the former president’s visit to devastated Georgia, where he toured the hard-hit areas left behind by Helen.
“As many across the Southeastern United States face challenges following the storm, President Trump is on the ground in communities to see the consequences firsthand,” the page read. “All donations will go to help those most affected by Hurricane Helen. Any level of generosity will go a long way to benefit your fellow Americans who are suffering.”

Among the donors was former Senator Kelly Loeffler, Republican of Georgia, who gave $500,000. Bass Pro Shop, known for its chain of wilderness-themed stores and a wide selection of hunting, fishing and outdoor gear, donated $100,000.

A donor by the name of Dana White, supposedly the CEO of the Ultimate Fighting Championship, is a friend of Trump and spoke at this year’s convention Republican National ConventionHe also gave $100,000.
