WASHINGTON (Reuters) – US President-elect Donald Trump said on Saturday that he would nominate billionaire Tilman Fertitta, owner of the Houston Rockets basketball team, as his administration’s ambassador to Italy.
Fertitta is the president and owner of Landry’s, which operates a large portfolio of restaurants, hotels and casinos across the United States.
In a post on his “Truth Social” platform, Trump praised the 67-year-old Texas citizen and described him as a “brilliant businessman” and philanthropist.
