Investing.com – President-elect Donald Trump is set to announce a major $20 billion foreign investment aimed at building new data centers across the United States, according to a report from CNBC on Tuesday.
CNBC said that a source familiar with the matter told them that the investment would be made by billionaire Hussain Sajwani, a Trump confidant and chairman of Damac Properties.
The announcement is expected to be made from Mar-a-Lago Resort, Trump’s residence and private club in Palm Beach, Florida, on Tuesday.
Eamonn Javers, CNBC’s chief Washington correspondent, tweeted about the upcoming announcement, saying: “A knowledgeable source tells me that President-elect Trump is expected to announce new foreign investment in the US economy in his remarks at Mar-a-Lago in the next hour.
“The investment will amount to $20 billion to build new data centers across the country. The investor is billionaire Hussain Sajwani, Chairman of Damac Properties, who has long had business ties with the Trump family.”
