“There was a problem in the future …”: SRIDHAR VEMBU criticizes contracts of inconvenience in Indian information technology, that the real value has never been built.

With the global scene of technology turning towards automation, artificial intelligence, and cost -effective cloud solutions, Indian information technology companies are struggling to keep pace with this. Form of the use of traditional external sources that have now prompted the industry now well. Customers demand more than cheap work-they want light movement, innovation and digital transformation from one end. Along with the contraction of the sizes of deals, delayed decision -making, and geopolitical pressures, the sector is moving in some of its turbulent times so far.

Amid this storm, the chief scientist at Zoho Corporation Sridhar Vembu gave a blatant examination of reality. In a publication on X (previously Twitter), VEMBU called for inefficiency contracts in the software sector, supported by the extended asset bubble and normalized by the Indian ecosystem.

He wrote: “My operation thesis: What we see is not just a periodic shrinkage and not only from artificial intelligence. Even without uncertainty caused by the customs tariff, there was a problem in the future.”

He criticized the industry’s dependence on enlarged systems, and the excessive employment of input -based bills, saying: “The broader software industry was completely incompetent in products and services. This efficiency has accumulated over decades of the lengthy asset bubble.

VEMBU has also expressed the redirect of skilled talents away from the founding sectors. He said: “The IT industry absorbed the talents that may have entered into manufacturing or infrastructure (for example).”

He added: “We are in the early stages of only a long account. My thesis is that the past thirty years are not a good post for the next thirty years. We are really at a turning point. We have to challenge our assumptions and new thinking.”

The publication sparked immediate reactions online. One of the users wrote: “We have sacrificed and burned generations of talent in this process to serve as a rear office for the global giants at the expense of the self -independence of India and its leadership. Jugaad is lack of efficiency, not a way to advanced innovation and digital sovereignty.”

“I am sorry to agree with this. We have to publish a talent to solve our own problems.”

Others chanted similar feelings. One of the comments read, “These technological companies in India, which became huge companies due to the use of external sources, had no sustainable model in the first place. It did not build products. You did not spend money and time in research and development … it was good while continuing – many people created the wealth of generations.”

Another added, “Many information technology + jobs in India came from the export of cheap American funds for services. These jobs have produced little real value … and a coming shaking.”
