Since the fall of Assad, Western capitals have expressed concern about the danger of ISIS militants exploiting the political vacuum in Syria. Thousands of former militants are currently detained in Kurdish-controlled prisons and camps. We speak to Matt Broomfield, co-founder of the Rojava Information Centre. He says Kurdish leaders’ calls for Western countries to return jihadists to their homeland went unheeded for years, and now their warnings are beginning to bear fruit.
