US officials are scheduled to meet with their Ukrainian counterparts again after a round of talks with Russian negotiators on a partial ceasefire in Ukraine.
A senior Ukrainian official told Agence France -Presse news agency that the meeting will be held later on Monday after the Russian delegations concluded from their day’s talks in the capital of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
Monday US talks in Russia She focused primarily on ending the attacks on the charging of the Black Sea, with a vision to enter a broader ceasefire agreement that would put an end to the war of Russia Ukraine for a period of three years.
American officials have already met Ukrainian team On Sunday to discuss the protection of the civil infrastructure and energy, Ukrainian Defense Minister Rustum Omrov, who led the delegation and described the talks as “fruitful”.
Big from Keev, which provides reports from Kiev, said that Ukraine is now keen on Russia’s vision that agrees with a deal that would protect the shipping of the Black Sea, especially “stopping the bombing of Ukrainian ports, Odyssea, Jacon and Meclav.”
“This was a great concern now for the Ukrainians. Ukraine really wants to operate and operate its ports, and for this reason they initially suggested a ceasefire on the air and the sea,” said Paige.
The Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov confirmed on Monday that US and Russian officials are discussing the possible appeal of the 2022 Black Cereal Initiative, an agreement that was supposed to be allowed to be allowed to ship millions of tons of grains and other food exports of its ports.
Moscow withdrew from this initiative – in which Türkiye and the United Nations mediated – in 2023, accusing west of its failure to support its obligations to reduce sanctions on Russia’s exports of agricultural products and fertilizers.
No expected penetration
“Nobody keeps his breath here expects any breakthroughs. Even Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman, Maria Zakharova, said that there are no expectations for a breakthrough in his head on Monday,” said Qashia Gabari, who reported Moscow.
“What is expected is that they will rid the details of what Russia require. The Russian delegation has been speaking to the American official at least during the past eight hours, as we understand it, about the details of the 30 -day ceasefire agreement when it comes to energy and infrastructure, as well as the Black Sea initiative.”
The maximum demands
Focusing on the Black Sea is much narrower than the 30 -day ceasefire agreement, which the United States proposed to Russia in Saudi Arabia earlier this month.
Last week, after separate phone calls with US President Donald Trump, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukraine President Voludmir Zelinsky agreed to a 30 days of ceasefirePledge not to attack energy infrastructure in each other’s regions.
But both sides accused the other by carrying out attacks on the energy targets set in recent days.
The Kremlin said on Monday that Russia was still heading to the endowment that Putin promised Trump, despite Kiev continuing to hit Russian energy facilities.
Ukraine, who said it would only agree to stop if an official document was signed, accused Moscow of calming its stop.
However, Trump has expressed his wide satisfaction about the way the talks were and was free about Putin’s participation in this process so far, saying on Saturday that the efforts made to stop more escalation in the conflict were “somewhat control.”
But there are doubts between the major European powers about whether Putin is ready to make meaningful concessions or will adhere to what they see as his maximum demand.
Putin says he is ready to discuss peace, but Ukraine must formally drop NATO’s aspirations and withdraw its forces from the total lands of four Ukrainian regions mostly claimed by Russia.
Continuous attacks
The talks came on Monday after Russia launched its third successive air attack in a row on Kiev, injuring one person and harmful homes in the area surrounding the Ukrainian capital.
Ukraine’s foreign minister, Andrei Sibha, said that Russia should stop its strikes instead of “making hollow statements about peace” in the wake of a Russian missile attack on Sumi in the northeastern city of “Sakani neighborhood”, which was at least 65 years, according to local prosecutors.
“You should support any diplomacy with Moscow by firearms, penalties and pressure,” said Sibha on X.
For its part, Russia said that it had dropped 227 Ukrainian drones over the past 24 hours, as firefighters clashed in the southern Krasnodar area for the fifth day to put out a fire in an oil depot in Ukrainian drone.
On Monday, the Russian Ministry of Defense claimed that Ukraine conducted two drones at the Valweica Gas Distribution Station in Beljorod on Saturday.
In addition, she said that the Ukrainian forces attempted to attack the Galipovskoy gas intense field in the Crimea on Sunday, but the Russian air defenses had repelled the attack.
