The United States is seeking to deport a student of Georgetown University, supporter

The student’s lawyer said on Wednesday that the administration of US President Donald Trump detained an Indian man studying at Georgetown University in Washington and seeking to deport him after considering harm to US foreign policy.

The US Department of Internal Security (DHS) accused Badar Khan Syrian of relations with the Palestinian Armed Group Hamas and said that he published Hamas propaganda and anti -Semitism on social media, according to a statement that it participated with Fox News.

DHS statement was not martyred to Fox News, which was re -published by White House Chief Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller. Foreign Minister Marco Rubio said he decided that Syrian activities “made him deported.”

His lawyer said that a Syrian, who lives in the United States with a visa and married to an American citizen, was arrested in Alexandria, Los Angeles, and is awaiting the date of the court in the Immigration Court. Federal agents arrested him outside his home in Roslin, Virginia, on Monday evening.

The case comes at a time when Trump is seeking to deport foreigners who participated in the pro -Palestinians protests against the American ally of Israel in its war against Gaza. The war began following the Hamas attack in October 2023 in southern Israel, killing nearly 1,200 people, with 251 other hostages, according to the Israeli. Since then, the Israeli attack has been killed more than 48,000 Palestinians, according to the Ministry of Health in Gaza.

In the United States, Trump’s measures have sparked protest against civil rights and invitation groups for immigrants who accuse his administration of unrelenting political critics.

Syrian is a post -PhD classmate at the Alwaleeed Bin Talal Center in Georgetown to understand Christian Muslims, and is part of the university’s external service college. His arrest was first reported by Politico.

“If the researcher who focuses on resolving conflicts is the one that the government decides badly for foreign policy, the problem may be with the government and not the researcher.”

A spokesman for Georgetown University said that the university had not received a reason for Syrian arrest, and was not aware of a Syrian in any illegal activity.

His lawyer said that a Syrian wife, Movies Saleh, is an American citizen. Saleh from Gaza, according to the Georgetown University website, which she said was written for the island and the Palestinian media and worked with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Gaza. The lawyer added that Saleh was not arrested.

A Syrian himself taught the semester this semester on “the majority and the rights of minorities in South Asia” and has a doctorate. In peace and conflict studies from a university in India, according to Georgetown University website.

Earlier this month, the Trump administration arrested and expanded to deport the student of Colombia University, Mahmoud Khalil, for his participation in the protests supporting the Palestinians. Khalil defies his detention in court.

Trump, without evidence, accused Khalil of Hamas’s support. Khalil’s legal team says it has no links to the armed group that the United States helps as “a foreign terrorist organization.”

Trump claimed pro -Palestinian demonstrators as anti -Semitic. The defenders supporting the Palestinians, including some Jewish groups, say that their criticism of Israel’s assault on Gaza and their support for Palestinian rights is mistakenly mixed with anti -Semitism by their critics.
