The United States is bombing ISIS camps and militants in Syria

The United States has struck ISIS camps and militants in Syria, as Washington tries to prevent the terrorist group from rebuilding in the country after the fall of Bashar al-Assad’s regime.

Precision airstrikes by the United States, carried out in areas controlled by the former regime and Russia in Syria, killed 12 ISIS terrorists, US Central Command said on Monday.

Central Command said there is an ongoing US mission “to disrupt, weaken, and defeat ISIS, prevent the terrorist group from conducting external operations, and ensure that ISIS does not seek opportunities to reconstitute itself in central Syria.”

General Michael Eric Corella said that Washington and its regional partners will not allow ISIS to “exploit the current situation in Syria.”
