The Sudan Army was accused of killing hundreds in the air strike on the Darfur market

The Sudanese war monitored the army of killing hundreds of people in an air strike in a market in the western Darfur region of the country.

A group of emergency lawyers – documenting violations by both sides in the Sudan Civil War that erupted in April 2023 – said that the bombing of the Torra market was a “horrific massacre” that also left hundreds of injured.

The videos posted on social media – some of them through the army’s competition, showed rapid support (RSF), a paramilitary group that controls a large part of Darfur – the ruins of smoking from market kiosks and charred bodies beyond recognition.

A military spokesman denied targeting civilians, saying that it had attacked only legitimate hostile targets.

The Sudanese Armed Forces and RSF have been accused repeatedly of bombing the civilian areas.

RSF has deployed drones in Darfur, but the army has warplanes – and regularly strikes RSF parking around the region.

The British Broadcasting Corporation was unable to confirm the death toll or accurate date of the attack on the market, which is located about 35 km (21 miles) north of the army -controlled city of Al -Faris.

An activist group in Darfur – the Darfur Initiative of Justice and Peace – said it had occurred on Monday and described it as “the most deadly bombing since the beginning of the war.”

Civil deaths have intensified in the attacks of bombing and bombing in recent months, as fighting in the brutal civil conflict in the country.

About 12 million people have escaped from their homes since the outbreak of the war – equivalent to Belgium or the entire population of Tunisia.
