Hungary Prime Minister Victor Urban says he will not impose the arrest warrant, which was issued for war crimes in Gaza.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is scheduled to visit Hungary this week, despite the arrest warrant for the International Criminal Court issued by the alleged war crimes in Gaza.
Netanyahu’s trip, announced by his office on Sunday, comes at the invitation of Hungarian Prime Minister Victor Urban.
The visit, to be held from Wednesday to Sunday, comes as Urban refused when it was announced in November.
Orban, a right -wing national leader who often contradicts the European Union on democratic standards, explained that Hungary will not impose the decision of the International Criminal Court.
according to Israel timesNetanyahu will use his Hungary visit this week to pressure for the Hungarian support for Trump’s plan to clean Gaza ethnically.
“Netanyahu is trying to build an alliance of the largest possible number of countries to support the Trump plan for Gaza,” the source told the newspaper.
Trump revealed his vision of Gaza in February, to purify the lands of the Palestinians ethnically and turn it into the Mediterranean resort.
Hungary publicly did not comment on Trump’s proposal, but Netanyahu’s visit indicates that he is seeking to mobilize international support for the controversial plan.
While Hungary, as a member of the European Union, is obligated to comply with the provisions of the International Criminal Court, there was no official response from Budapest regarding the upcoming visit.
This will be the second foreign trip of Netanyahu since the International Criminal Court has issued orders to him and former defense minister Yov Galet.
In February, Netanyahu traveled to Washington to meet with US President Donald Trump.
Israel rejected the charges against its leaders, describing them as “liars and ridiculous.” The International Criminal Court also issued an arrest warrant for the Hamas leader Ibrahim Al -Massari.
