The popularity of Caitlin Clark’s trading card amazes other stars

Clark was named Rookie of the Year for her historic campaign during which she set the record for the most assists in a single season in league history. She received the most All-Star Game votes and was the fifth rookie in league history to make the All-WNBA First Team.

She parlayed it all into becoming Time Magazine’s Female Athlete of the Year, for which she received criticism from Washington Mystics owner Sheila Johnson.

“Why couldn’t they put the WNBA on that cover and say the WNBA is the league of the year because of all the talent we have.” Johnson said. “When you pick one player, it creates hard feelings. So, now you’re starting to hear stories about racism within the NBA, and I don’t want to hear that.”
