The Lonely Four Fridays – The 13 films set on the correct date

Some fans reverse-engineered the events of “Friday the 13th Part 2” (1981) to take place on Friday the 13th… in June of 1984, when there was actually a Friday the 13th. However, there are no on-screen indications that the movie “Friday 2” is set three years in the future, and on-screen fashions definitely indicate that it was filmed in 1981. This means, technically, that the second film doesn’t It takes place on Friday the 13th.

But even if it did, the direct sequels, “Friday the 13th Part 3 3-D” (1982) and “Friday the 13th: The Final Chapter” (1984), would not be. Both of these films appear to follow the events of “Friday the 13th Part 2” directly, meaning that audiences will witness the events of Sunday, July 15 through Wednesday, July 18, 1984. Frustratingly, none of the characters allude to the actual date in any of these films. It kind of defeats the purpose of the title.

The fifth film, “Friday the 13th: A New Beginning” (1985), is said to be set five years after “The Final Chapter,” which puts things right in the year 1989. There was a Friday the 13th in October of 1989, but no… There’s something on the screen to say that a “fresh start” is set for October.

If we were to extrapolate the five-year time jump, the sixth film, Friday the 13th Part VI: The Life of Jason (1986), takes place in July 1990… which, after all, was Friday the 13th . The seventh film, “Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood,” with the same timeline, jumps to the teenage years of a character named Tina, meaning seven years have passed since “Jason Lives.” This means it was set in July of 1997 – which was also Friday the 13th.

Naturally, sticking to this timeline would push the events of “Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan” (1989) to 1998, and the events of “Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday” (1993). Until 2003. Now, things are out of the question.
