The ruling Labor Party in Britain said on Saturday that it had suspended Dan Norris, one of the legislators in Parliament, after the police arrested him.
The party said in a statement that Mr. Morris “was immediately suspended by the Labor Party when he was informed of his arrest,” adding that “it cannot be more suspended while investigating the police.”
The party did not specify the reason for the arrest of Mr. Norris, 65, and he did not immediately respond to a request for comment on Saturday.
