I was enjoying First Berserker: TankSouls, dark fictional movement that was released on March 27. During this year’s gaming developer conference, I sat with some development team to chat about the latest game in the Dungeon & Fighter-and much more game, of difficulty in gaming games to artificial intelligence in the industry.

You have spoken to Myeongjin Yun, CEO of developers, and Bin Star, the voice of the Khashani character and many other iconic games including Clive, the protagonist Final Fantasy 16.

We talked about the place where the game is suitable in the fortified universe and the largest fighter, and how they dealt with a new introduction in this crowded type that resembles souls and where artificial intelligence fits within their fields. This interview was lightly released for clarity.

Sean Booker: What is Dungeon & Fighter and how is it related to the first Berserker Khazan?

Mongigin Yun: So, Dungeon & Fighter is the RPG game, it was in service for 20 years as of this year in Korea. Khazan actually plays an essential part of the story. So there is this iconic category in Dungeon & Fighter called The Demon Slayer, and they have a cursed red arm. It is part of the science, and basically a tank is at the core like, how it became, why all devil’s killers have that red arm.

Then with the first Berserker: Khazan, we wanted to go deep into the story and in the universe, as you know, what role played by Khazan in the creation of Dungeon & Fighter Universe. How does his story expand?

SB: Ben, what directed you to this project?

Ben Star: Wonderful, wonderful project. I remember I saw the first glance ever, I think it was in the game prizes two years ago, and I thought it was the most wonderful game and I am a big fan of this type of game, such as RPGs Action Hardcore is something I have a deep and deep love. After I had a blind test for this game, but I knew exactly what it was because I was already keeping the tabs as a fan. Then I just saw what they were doing with the story – I think it is with most actors, all they wanted to do was tell good stories and to be good characters and it was really fun. And I love, as you know, the hero of the brick that leaks for revenge, but this is really different poetry and its gods and I adore the style of art.

I really like that the key to this story is dynamic with Blade Phantom, and I am really great friends with Anthony Hug, who plays Blade Phantom, and I think he is a wonderful and amazing actor. Access to work alongside him is just this amazing gift.

SB: Will you say that people need to be familiar with Dungeon & Fighter to play the first Berserker, and if not, and they wanted to do so, where did you go at the IP?

for me: You can definitely play and enjoy Khazan, even if you don’t know IP Dungeon & Fighter at all. Preparation, learning curve, and even the story is made with new people in Dungeon & Fighter IP into consideration. Of course, if you know the original story, you will have a lot of fun, oh, here is the Easter egg here and there. For example, in the fortified constellations and the original fighter, when Khazan denies to the mountains, the type of story ends there, and we do not get much in the details about what happened to the treasures after that. But here is somewhat expanding on what if the preparation is, so what if Khazan did not die in this exiled snowy mountain? What if it is alive? What if he continues to take revenge?

SB: Dungeon & Fighter games are usually overcome, and there is also a fighting game. Now with Khazan, we go to a soul -like movement. Why move to this new type?

for me: We wanted to find a way for everyone to indulge in the story, in order to really experience what it means to play Dungeon & Fighter. But if you look at the original game, it is a pixel game. It is also the side scroll and this is not the most popular type yet. Thus we thought, if we thought about the type, what is the best way to reach these players?

Of course, as you know, we want 3D and we have this specific artistic style. We have been inspired by games like Dark Souls, Sekiro and NIOH because I personally love these games as well, but then, they play much closer to the original Dungeon & Fighter, which is the hard -line RPG game. So we really wanted to emphasize, as you know, on this feeling of original play and being correct in it, and this is some kind of being a tank.

SB: There is a continuous discussion about the difficulty settings in these hardline work games. Not only Khazan has an easy mode option, but also contains Lacrima, where you can continue to face its boss and still advance. What were your thoughts about difficulty?

for me: This is a funny story because last year in Gamescom was asked if we had planned to add difficult settings, then I said no, we will not do that. But then winter, as in December last year, we have already added an easy position, right? When we initially thought about the settings of difficulty and its preservation, we wanted the players really to feel the difficulties that Khazan was going through, and all the difficulty he was facing, but then we really thought about ourselves, such as, what do we want from this? Like, what do we want the players to feel at the end of all this?

Of course, there is a feeling of achievement through all these challenges and improvement, but then we also wanted to make this experience very accessible to players and to learn more people who feel indulging in Dungeon & Fighter.

There was a lot of internal debate about whether or not we should add difficulty settings, but in the end, we decided to do so. I personally love Souls games, but I will not say I am a major expert player in Souls. Taking into account, we wanted the players who may not be good in controlling or evading them to be able to progress through repetition, and to really feel progress so that they can enjoy the game as well.

BS: I was greatly affected by the way the team participated constantly with the players and communicated with the team. Given that this is one player RPG player, the fact that you as a team has been constantly journey, here is a copy of the game to play, and please go and play, and give us notes – this kind of wonderful conversation that you made with the audience and how you listened to people and what they want, which is really interesting.

When you think about how to use the word Hardcore, immediately you think it is “this game is not for me.” But in reality, “it can be, in fact you can choose to play the game as you like” (was really beautiful).

SB: As a person behind the scenes, what are your thoughts about AI in the game industry?

for me: Certainly we are aware of what artificial intelligence can do as well as the moral arguments we face around, and certainly about vocal acting and all of this as well. Personally, I feel that in the field of game -making, in the field of developing games, artificial intelligence definitely increases access and allows the smaller teams to reach great ideas and develop new games in many different types and really bring their ideas.

But then, we also need to be completely aware of the fact that we are in this chaotic middle land here. There are a lot of arguments about whether this is ethical. We see a lot of copyright violations, so we really need to learn the location of the line and how we need to work within safe boundaries. It definitely has a lot of capabilities, but then also includes more discussion.

BS: Yes, it is a kind of the same thing, which is that artificial intelligence is not bad by its nature, it is what the imprint of the human being does. AI is also a very toxic word to use because it no longer revolves around artificial intelligence, it relates to all the things surrounding it. You are wandering around GDC now and you will hear many conversations about the importance of machine learning and how much it is.

I am an actor and it is clear that it is very hot now for what we do. I think what SAG-Aftra is doing now, and what actors are fighting for it is very important, and it is very good that they raise the importance in the public domain. Ultimately, Amnesty International is not the problem. Artificial intelligence can be a great and wonderful tool for people who use it in the right hands, but it resembles each horrific movie one of the twentieth century of the nineties. It is like skynet, a man, is he coming? It should be in the right hands. In the right way, it can be used, useful and wonderful, but as I said, there should be an organization.

Technology moves very quickly so that the regulations cannot continue and we need to make sure that we put things in place, so when this technology progresses to a level of crazy things, we already have these regulations in place and we do not interact (by) preventing those things that occur in the first place.

SB: When you don’t work on Khazan, what are you playing now?

for me: As an developer, I entered this industry for the first time because I love games and love playing games, but then it was paradoxes because I could not play much. You hear a lot of other developers say “Oh, I love playing games”, but nowadays like games are actually more research, so you hear a lot of developers say that. I don’t want this comment to look very business, but I actually play Khazan, which is great.

BS: I recently bought a vapor platform. I have been a child in PlayStation since I was very young and that was the primary and I am still my basic gaming machine. But I found myself so travel so much that I was like “I needed to get a steam surface.”

On the way here I did 4 hours of vampire survivors. I did about 3 hours of half -life, which is still steadfast. My words, do this game stand up. And I think they have like RTX there Just come out. The series of games that caught me over the past two months is the state of the golden idol and the rise of the golden idol.

I just think it’s great, and even in those three games that I included is the same idea for video games, but she tells the stories in completely different ways. The vampire survivors do not tell a story at all, but it is great to be able to interact with that, and the stories can be revealed to us in all these ways, and I think the Golden Idol series is really private.
