The authorities say that the country’s blackout affects Syria due to job breakdowns, amid deepening the economic crisis.

A spokeswoman for the Ministry of Energy said that Syria has suffered from power outages worldwide due to breakdowns in several points in the national network.

The spokesperson said that the technical teams deal with the issues that were struck on Tuesday night. There was no initial indication that the attack was the cause.

“The power outage in the country in Syria is the result of a technical error in the electrical system. Efforts are under implementation to fix the problem and restore energy as quickly as possible.”

SANA quoted the general manager later.

Syria suffers from a severe lack of energy, as the electricity attached to the country is available for two or three hours a day only in most areas. The damage to the network means that generating or providing more energy is only part of the problem.

Damascus is used to receiving the largest part of the oil to generate energy from Iran, but supplies have been cut since the Haretar Al -Sham (HTS) led to the overthrow of the former Syrian president in Bashar al -Assad in December in the lightning attack.

During the era of President Ahmed Al -Sharra, the interim government pledged to intensify energy supplies quickly, partly by importing electricity from Jordan and using floating energy boats.

Damascus has also said that it will receive two electricity -generating ships from Türkiye and Qatar to increase energy supplies.

Millions of Syrians still cannot install solar panels or pay huge fees for private generators.

The new authorities in Syria are struggling to reform the infrastructure that was beaten after dividing a 14 -year conflict in most parts of the country. They have struggled to persuade Western countries to lift economic sanctions to make the Syrian economy to be applied again.

The country also suffered from a series of destructive Israeli attacks that caused great damage to the basic infrastructure.

Since Assad was expelled, Israel has carried out hundreds of air strikes and forces deployed in a United Nations buffer zone at the occupied Golan heights.

While Assad was in power, Israel also attacked Syria routinely, and bombed what it claimed to be Iranian and Hezbollah targets.
