In a special statement to Page six “The company filed a frivolous lawsuit against my husband as a desperate attempt to avoid paying for medical and surgical procedures for people it insures who were in pain,” Sunny claimed on Monday.

The suit that names Dr. Hostin and 199 other doctors, accusing them of “intentionally providing fraudulent medical and other health care services, including laparoscopic surgeries.” Sunny, who is also a lawyer, says the allegations have caused significant damage to her reputation and vows to hold the insurance company accountable.

Threatening a $5 million countersuit

Last week, the couple hired high-profile attorney Mark Geragos to defend Dr. Huston. On Sunday, Geragos sent a letter to American Transit’s legal team, threatening to sue for $5 million unless the case was withdrawn and an apology was issued.
