sunny She responds to American Transit Insurance Company, alleging that the lawsuit is part of a calculated effort to avoid financial accountability while launching a smear campaign against her family.

In a special statement to Page six “The company filed a frivolous lawsuit against my husband as a desperate attempt to avoid paying for medical and surgical procedures for people it insures who were in pain,” Sunny claimed on Monday.

The suit that names Dr. Hostin and 199 other doctors, accusing them of “intentionally providing fraudulent medical and other health care services, including laparoscopic surgeries.” Sunny, who is also a lawyer, says the allegations have caused significant damage to her reputation and vows to hold the insurance company accountable.

Threatening a $5 million countersuit

Last week, the couple hired high-profile attorney Mark Geragos to defend Dr. Huston. On Sunday, Geragos sent a letter to American Transit’s legal team, threatening to sue for $5 million unless the case was withdrawn and an apology was issued.

In her statement, Sunny accused the insurance company of using “despicable tactics” such as harassing doctors and misusing legal resources. She also pointed to other legal and financial issues facing the company, including a lawsuit filed against American Transit by Uber Technologies and an alleged prior investigation by New York State. Sunny claimed that the company is “on the verge of bankruptcy.”

She ended her statement with a sharp warning: “Let me be clear, where I come from, American Transit is going to get a PhD from FAFO,” using the ubiquitous acronym for “f–k about and find out.”

American transit responds

In response to Sunny and Geragos’ claims, American Transit’s attorney, William Natbone of Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft, issued a statement to *Page Six*.

“American Transit initiated the lawsuit as part of its legal responsibility to combat the no-fault fraud that is rampant in New York,” Natbone said. “The allegations of the complaint speak for themselves. With respect to any allegations by any defendant regarding improper conduct by American Transit or its attorneys, such assertions are categorically denied as meritless.”

Dr. Hostin Attorney Daniel Thwaites previously described the suit as “a sweeping, rambling and baseless lawsuit by an insurance company on the verge of bankruptcy.”

As the case moves forward, Sunny and her legal team are intensifying their efforts to protect her husband’s reputation and counter the allegations they describe as baseless and damaging.
