SpongeBob SquarePants is the latest icon to join the UEFN platform

SpongeBob SquarePants and Binky Bottom have joined Fortnite via its UGC platform, Unreal Editor for Fortnite. Paramount Game Studios and marketing agency Zoned have teamed up on a series of four experiences inspired by the popular animated series, bringing SpongeBob, Patrick and the rest to Fortnite audiences.

The four games, developed by Zoned with Alliance Studios, span many familiar and popular genres. They include:

• Red vs. Blue, where participants attack each other with gel guns in a free-for-all game
• Prop Hunt, the classic hide-and-seek game with a Bikini Bottom aesthetic
• Slap Fight, where karate players chop each other off the board while searching for Krabby Patties
• Just Up, the user-generated staple, is a good old obstacle course

“We know a lot of SpongeBob SquarePants fans are game fans, so it was a natural next step for us to bring Bikini Bottom to life in this authentic form for them,” Doug Rosen, senior vice president of games and emerging media at Paramount, said of the collaboration. . SpongeBob and company are not the first to join the UEFN platform, as Zoned has worked on previous projects such as The UEFN experience at Topgolf. It’s also not the first time SpongeBob has appeared in a user-generated content launch, as he is one of the staples of Roblox and was part of GameFam’s Super Bowl celebrations On the platform.
