Sony acquired Kadokawa. This comes on the heels of reports that Sony was in talks with… . This makes Sony the Japanese publisher’s largest shareholder.

Sony likely made the move to acquire some of Kadokawa’s intellectual property, which includes the entire roster of FromSoftware games and franchises created by Spike Chunsoft and Gotcha Gotcha Games. Kadokawa also publishes a large number of anime and manga. A press release indicated that the two companies will now discuss specific initiatives for collaboration, which will include “live-action films and television dramas.”
