‘Sonic the Hedgehog 3’ and ‘Mufasa’ Dominate Christmas Box Office (NASDAQ:PARA)

Family films “Sonic the Hedgehog 3” and “Mufasa” dominated the Christmas holiday box office, according to studio estimates released Sunday.

Paramount’s “Sonic” grossed $38 million, besting Disney’s “Mufasa” with $37.1 million. However, since Christmas was on a Wednesday, the studios will also look at the results of the five days. Since Christmas Day, “Mustafa” has grossed $63.8 million while “Sonic” has earned $63.8 million.
