Skeleton Crew Episode 7 puts the adults in a classic Steven Spielberg scene

The penultimate episode of “Star Wars: Skeleton Crew” Season 1, “We’re Gonna Be in Big Trouble” Brings events back to the planet Atinwhere all the show’s stories and characters converge in the mysterious world of legend. As things get going, the parents of the at-risk children, Wim (Ravi Cabot Conyers), Vern (Ryan Keira Armstrong), Neil (Robert Timothy Smith), and KP (Kerianna Kreiter), plan to send a letter to them, letting them in. They know how to overcome the deadly barrier that stands between them and their return home. Meanwhile, Captain Brutus (Fred Tatasciore), Good-Na-Nawood (Jude Law), and the rest of the pirates fight over the kids and their ship, the Onyx Cinder, when they realize it may hold the key to passage through the barrier.

Eventually, Judd comes out on top, forcefully captures the children, takes them hostage with cruel threats, and leaves the pirate crew behind. Upon arriving at the surface, he located the legendary treasure of Attin and the children were reunited with their parents. However, the actual episode ends just as the final conflict is about to begin.

Along the way, We’re Gonna Be in Big Trouble tests everything from Andor to Treasure Island again for ideas. However, one of the film’s best scenes comes straight from a Steven Spielberg classic.

Robert Watts and Christopher Ford, the creators of “Skeleton Crew,” have made no secret of the fact that they were inspired by the works of Steven Spielberg, especially his direction and production in the 1980s. “The Goonies” is often cited as a recurring inspirationThis is logical. “The Goonies” really cemented the “Kids on Bikes” genre in the hearts and minds of 80s kids everywhere. But there was, of course, another film that launched the genre in the first place: Spielberg’s 1982 hit E.T. the Extra Terrestrial.

Episode 7 of “Skeleton Crew” begins with a scene taken straight out of “E.T.” With the parents of missing children confident that At Attin’s robots and supervisors will do nothing to help find their children, they have designed themselves a communications device, assembled from spare parts, to send a message to… Beyond the planet barrier. They come together in the forest to release their message. Unfortunately, Attin’s security robots, who carry bright flashlights at night, descend on them and chase them, hoping to prevent their message from getting out.

The scene feels like a direct send-up of two iconic moments in “ET” The first is the foot chase in “ET” that has been referenced in the show before, where government agents chase the alien of the same name through the woods at night. With torches. The other, though, is when ET assembled his communications device in order to contact his people and take him back home. “ET phone home,” he tells his friends in one of the movie’s oft-quoted lines.

While Episode 7 of “Skeleton Crew” matches the shots and atmosphere of Spielberg’s classic with its nocturnal jungle sequences, it also puts the adults in the position of escaping the authorities this time around, which is a funny switch. They clearly just want to bring their children home safe and sound, and it makes one wonder if this might be the case for other aliens trying to reach ET on the other end of things. Spielberg movie.

If there’s anything we can learn from the example of Spielberg’s “Kids on Bikes” films of the 1980s, it’s that they always have an exciting climax with lots of action, and kids on bikes. Since this episode of “Skeleton Crew” ends on a cliffhanger after sending its young heroes home to Attin, it stands to reason that we’ll likely return to see the kids riding their bikes as they try to save the day from Jude. Na Nawood and his traitorous ways at the end of the first season.

Will they fly to the sky and be shaded by the moon? This may be a bit too much, but I’d still bet that bicycles embody things. And I bet on that too Wim will get his hands on the lightsaber that Jude escaped withalso. It would make a lot of sense for him to become the Jedi he’s been dreaming of since Episode One. We also hope that the kids’ robot friend SM-33 will return as well. This is just a good story in Spielberg mode.
