Yolanda Saldeva is serving a life sentence for the murder of the American Tejano singer in 1995. Saldeva was a former employee of Selena and an obsessive fan. Saldiva shot the “I Dream of You” singer to death in a hotel room in Corpus Christi, Texas.
Saldiva is currently serving her time with the Texas Department of Criminal Justice at the Patrick L. O’Daniel Unit in Gainesville. A former prisoner claims Saldiva had a “bounty” on her head for killing Selena.

Yolanda Saldeva is seeking parole 30 years after she killed Selena
According to the New York Post, Saldívar has filed the required paperwork in a bid to get parole in 2025. Saldívar reportedly has nothing on her record that would prevent the parole board from holding a hearing in March.
Saldívar, 64, claims she shot… Grammy Award Winner by chance. The “Bidi Bidi Boom Boom” singer accused Saldívar – who was the president of the then 23-year-old’s fan club – of embezzling more than $60,000 from her. Selena was shot and killed in a Days Inn hotel room in Corpus Christi, Texas after confronting Saldívar.
After being shot, Selina ran into the hallway and collapsed. Her last words were reportedly “Yolanda…158” per the people. A film about the tragedy starring Jennifer Lopez Released in 1997.

Yolanda Saldeva has a “bounty” on her head for killing Selena

Saldivar is said to be a target in prison for killing the beloved singer.
Marisol Lopez, a former inmate at the Patrick L. O’Daniel Unit, claims that “everyone” knows who Saldívar is, and that they all want “a piece.” Lopez also asserts that prison guards separate Saldívar from the general prison population for her safety.
“Everyone knows who Yolanda Saldívar is,” Lopez said. “There’s a bounty on her head. Like, everyone wants a piece of her. The guards keep her away from everyone else because she’s so hated. If she’s out there, someone will try to take her down.”
Another former inmate, Yesenia Dominguez, alleged that Saldívar was often the subject of discussion in the prison yard for inmates.

“Everyone was always like, ‘Let me have five minutes with that bitch,’” Dominguez said. “Everyone wanted justice for Selena. “There’s a target on her back.”

Selena won a Grammy Award
Selena began performing with her siblings in their band, Selena y Los Dinos, when she was a child. In 1993, she won an award Grammy Award Best Mexican American Album for “Selena Live!” At the 36th Annual Grammy Awards in New York City.
The singer’s fan account on Instagram noted this occasion through a commemorative post last March.

Selena has a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame

Selena received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame on November 3, 2017, in Hollywood, California.
In attendance were members of her band including her sister Suzette Quintanilla, her brother A.P. Quintanilla III, and Selena’s widower and former bandmate Chris Perez.
The family celebrates Selena with an annual musical tribute that celebrates the singer. Her father, Abraham Quintanilla, says his daughter continues to attract new fans years after her sudden death.
“Over the years, new generations have discovered it and fallen in love with it,” he said. “Selena’s life is over, but her fans have carried her through the years and her legacy is passed down from generation to generation. That in itself is incredible.”

Selena’s father receives mail from inmates targeting her killer
Quintanilla said during an interview with Univision’s Primer Impacto in 2018 that he receives letters from inmates who want to kill Saldívar for killing the “queen of Tejano music.”
“To this day, we still receive letters from women in the same prison where they say they are waiting for her. They say they are going to kill her,” he said. There are bad women out there. Women who have killed other people in the past. That’s why they are there. They have nothing to lose.”
