SAG-AftraFederation of actors, Declared agreements To allow both Game Jam students and participants to work with union artists, despite the continuous video games strike.
The Federation has established the interactive waiver agreement for students and the Game Jam Convention, both of which provide video game developers at each stage of their career to work with the performance of the Federation.
“Through these new agreements, SAG-Aftra can help support game developers at all levels who want to work with trade union talents and who want to learn more about producing video games under a union contract. In addition, our members are excited about this industry and want to be able to participate in these types of projects where the future of video games is formed.”
It is designed for students who are currently taking video game courses in an accredited educational institution, and the interactive waiver agreement provides students with students an opportunity to work with SAG-Aftra artists to meet the requirements of the course while developing the game. The project must be registered entirely in the United States and must be owned by the student, as a product or signature, and also meet some other requirements.
