Scotti Shevler says it was “really great” to be able to congratulate Rorre McLeroi after the Northern Irish won the master’s degree to complete the Grand Slam career.
Mcilroy defeated Justin Rose in a failed match in Ugusta National on Sunday to become the sixth man – and the first Europe – wins with each of the four golf specialties at least once.
As a master’s champion last year, Sheffler presented Mcilroy with his green jacket and says he could feel the world “relief” in the world.
Mcilroy Grand Slam completed the eleventh and 11 -year attempt after its previous main title – the 2014 PGA championship in Valhalla.
“It was great to see him accomplishing the mission, really wonderful that there was at that moment, congratulating him and seeing joy on him and his family,” said scientist No. 1 Scheffler.
The Olympic Games just left for Micciloy to overcome?
“Everything was accomplished in the golf game and this was the last thing in reality.
“The man won the Fedexcup, the players, all of which are the four majors. The only thing is the Olympic Games that he wants to win.
“It was an emotional day for him. I just tried to stay away from the way and get the jacket without embarrassing it. I must see the whole celebration.”
Scheffler won two main titles so far – both in The Masters after a victory in 2022 and 2024 – while he finished second in the United States Open and PGA championship.
“I have no understanding of what is similar to being asked about the Grand Slam profession, but I have a small understanding of what is similar to being asked:” Hey, you have accomplished this, but you did not accomplish it. “
“It could be very tax on people at times. Certainly from the outside, it seemed more like relief than anything else (for Rorre).”
Shifler: I am not thinking much about job goals
When asked if he would be inspired by Mcilroy’s success, Sheffler said he focused on “getting the maximum benefit from myself.”
The 28 -year -old – who finished alone in The Master On Eight Under Par – will search for the defense of RBC heritage successfully in Harbour Town Golf Links in South Carolina this week, live. Sky Sports Golf From 12:30 pm on Thursday.
Shevler’s victory in Hilton Heid was one year before seven years in the PGA round in 2024 – in addition to Olympic gold in Paris – but he did not yet win this season.
He added: “The feeling you get from winning the tournament is very special. For me, I hope it will last longer than it was. It does not last very long.
“Was it great to watch Rori winning Grand Slam? Of course it was.
“Winning Grand Slam, I think this is something that any golf player dreams, but at the end of the day, I just try to get the utmost benefit from myself. This is about that.”
