Some actors are simply suited to playing bad guys, and while Robert Patrick isn’t always heavy, the films he’s best known for feature him giving the good guys a very hard time. The Bowling Green State University standout athlete began playing small roles in exploitation films directed by famed Filipino director Sirio H. Santiago (his 1976 film The Muthers is a must-see), and eventually found his way. To Hollywood where he landed his breakout role as liquid metal T-1000 James Cameron’s 1991 action classic Terminator 2: Judgment Day.

Patrick showed real range in ’90s films like “Fire in the Sky,” “The Cool Surface” and “Striptease,” but for the most part Hollywood knew he could deliver the satirical goods as a villain, and he took those roles without hesitation. (He’s particularly bad as white supremacist DC supervillain August “Auggie” Smith aka the White Dragon in Max’s “Peacemaker” series.) While doing this, Patrick often found himself facing off against some of the most iconic action heroes in film history, meaning his characters rarely made it to the end credits with a beat. But that’s the job, and Patrick is more than good in that position. In fact, he’s actually proud of his many on-screen deaths, especially when dispatched by one of Hollywood’s big guns.

Robert Patrick will take your three iconic action stars and create an amazing leading lady for you

In a 2008 interview with Den of GeekRobert Patrick was asked how he resents the havoc-wreaking holy trinity of Arnold Schwarzenegger, Sylvester Stallone and Bruce Willis (find out where these three rank /List of the 18 best actors in an action movie). He made it clear by adding a fourth star to the list of on-screen attackers. Per Patrick:

“It’s a badge of honor, but let me give you a little extra badge of honor. Are you ready for this? First she was killed by Bruce Willis, then Schwarzenegger, then Stallone. And in Charlie’s Angels 2, she was killed by the former Mrs. Bruce Willis (known as Also as Demi Moore).”

This is a prestigious list of killers. For those of you keeping score, here’s how Patrick bids farewell to the living in each of these films:

  • In the film “Die Hard 2” (directed by Renny Harlin and released in 1990), he is shot repeatedly through a displaced air vent in an airport terminal under construction by John McClane Willis.
  • In Terminator 2: Judgment Day (again directed by James Cameron and released in 1991), he is hit in the stomach by a Schwarzenegger-shaped T-800 grenade and falls into a pool of molten metal (where he desperately tries to reconstitute himself before melting into into oblivion).
  • In “Cop Land” (directed by James Mangold and first released in 1997), he runs out of his house, runs into a gun-wielding Freddie Heflin (Stallone), and gets on the wrong end of an information exchange. bullets (much to his surprise, given the stunned expression on his character’s face as he dies).
  • In “Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle” (directed by McG and a 2003 hit in theaters), Patrick’s corrupt U.S. Marshal is blown up by Demi Moore’s former angel-turned-villain Madison Leigh at the Griffith Park Observatory.

Finally (and back a bit), although John Cena isn’t a famous movie star yet, it’s worth noting that Patrick’s White Dragon was taken down by a bullet to the head fired by his son, Cena’s titular character, in “The Peacemaker.” ” This is a big screen die from Mr. Patrick, and we have future T-1000s to thank for his lights-out service.
