Riding with the Recumbent Circus – BionicOldGuy

Today I rode with my recumbent group on the Coyote Creek Trail. I met them in South San Jose and came back with them. I was a little late getting out the door so I rode the Monterey Highway to the start. This isn’t as scenic but it’s more direct, and I had a tailwind, so I flew there at 21 mph. We returned more leisurely down the road, with beautiful scenery and weather. We had lunch at Morgan Hill near the south end of the road. They returned to the starting point in South San Jose where they parked the car, but I had just gotten home from the lunch spot. I refer to it as the recumbent circus because all the tricycles have colorful flags to make them more visible, and when we ride them it’s as if the circus has come to town. This is a nice group, all older people like me, with various ailments (one was rehabilitating for a knee replacement recently) but that doesn’t stop any of them as they all use tricycles and electric assistance.

I bet we were the weirdest thing a dog had seen all day
He’s lying at a rest stop next to one of the tricycles
Santa is on his boat near where we went to lunch. This is actually a float that appears in parades in Morgan Hill
