The ruling council said on Saturday that the death toll from a strong earthquake reached 7.7 people in Myanmar increased to 1644. At least 139 people are still missing. The earthquake also struck the neighboring Thailand, where the skyscraper collapsed under construction, killing at least 10 people. The international rescue task is on the ground, as it provides an emergency assistance and the coordination of rescue operations in both Myanmar and Thailand, according to Elinor Ricks, deputy head of delivery of programs on the international rescue mission.
