Police says that car incentives at the Filipino Heritage Street in Vancouver, killing at least 9.

At least nine people were killed when a man led to a crowd at the Filipino Heritage Festival in Canadian Police said on Sunday that Vancouver, an unknown number, was injured.

The Vancouver Police Administration said in the position of social media that the car entered the street at 8:14 pm on Saturday and hit people who attended the Labo Labu Festival.

Many other people were injured, but the exact number of losses were not immediately available.

“We are confident that this incident was not a terrorist,” the police said.

Police said that a 30 -year -old Vancouver was arrested at the scene and the main crime department in the department supervised the investigation.

The temporary Vancouver police chief Steve Ray told a press conference that the man was arrested after he was initially arrested by passers -by.

The video on social media appears a young man in a black Hodi with his back on a chain link fence, along with a security guard and surrounded by passers -by screaming and securing it.

Ray refused to comment on the video, but said that the detained person was “a single male” was known to the police in certain circumstances.

The festival was held in the South Vancouver neighborhood. The video posted on social media showed victims and debris scattered over a long time, with at least seven people on the ground. Black SUVs can be seen with a front section spread in fixed images from the scene.

James Cruzes, the owner of Vancouver, was in this event and heard a car that returned its engine, then “loud noise, like the loud noise” that he initially believed to be a shot.

“We have seen people on the road crying, and others like running, screaming, or even screaming, and asked for help. So we tried to go there only to check what was already happening until we found some bodies on the ground. Others did not care about them, like others, as you know, with injuries,” Cruzat said.

“It was terrible to see this type of accident, this situation. It was tragic,” Cruzat said. “I couldn’t even imagine that this really happened in real life, because we usually see it on TV or movies. But when you are in this type of situation, it was really shocking … I could not do anything but pray for them.”

The mayor of Vancouver Kenneth Sim said in a social media post that the city will provide more information as possible.

“I was shocked and deeply saddened by the horrific accident at the day of Labu Labu today,” Sim said. “Our ideas with all the affected people and with the Filipino Vancouver community during this very difficult time.”

Vancouver had more than 38,600 residents of the Filipino heritage in 2021, which represents 5.9 % of the total population of the city, according to Canada’s statistics, the agency that takes place national statistics.

Lapu Day Datu Lapu-Lapu, an original leader standing in front of the Spanish explorers who came to the Philippines in the sixteenth century. The Vancouver event organizers said that “it represents the spirit of the original resistance, a strong force that helped form the Filipino identity in the face of colonialism.”

Prime Minister Mark Carnary and other Canadian political figures published messages expressing a shock of violence, condolences to the victims and supporting society to celebrate his heritage in the festival.

“I offer the deepest condolences to the loved ones of those who were killed and injured, to the Canadian Canadian society, and for everyone in Vancouver. We are all sad with you,” Carney wrote.

“While we are waiting to learn more, our ideas with the victims and their families – and the Philippine Vancouver community, who were meeting today to celebrate the flexibility, wrote.”

“My ideas with the Philippine society and all the targeted victims of this meaningless attack. Thank you to the first respondents who are at the scene while we are waiting to hear more,” wrote the leader of the Conservative Party, Pierre Bouleever.

David Eibi, British Prime Minister of Colombia, the boycott in which Vancouver is shocked and saddened. “We are in contact with Vancouver and we will provide any required support,” Ebi wrote.
