Echavarria, who won in Japan last fall for the second PGA Tour title, ended before the final groups and played it free from his ghost in 66, which made Birdie significantly in every three Par 3s in the ninth rear.

“This is a golf field where you should not be one of the introduction that has begun to get the leaders,” he said. “We have seen it as a difficult golf field. You have to lead your ball well here. You have to hit the vegetables. It is difficult around the vegetables.

Ricky Castillo enjoyed 68 years and was behind him. Thomas and Shin Lauri (70 years old) was among five players in five individuals, with Billy Horshel (69) in the large group another snapshot behind. Lucas Glove (69 years old) was part of the group with SPIETH in four behind.

“The leaders are stacked. There may be 25 young men – 30 young men – they may still win this golf course,” said Jeremy Paul from Germany, who shot 70 years and was in the second group. “Try to put a good tour together and know where you put me.”
