Pedro Martinez Losa has been sacked as coach of the Scottish Women’s National Team after failing to qualify for Euro 2025.
This comes after a 2-0 defeat in a playoff match in Finland, which led to the team failing to qualify for next summer’s tournament in Switzerland.
The 48-year-old was handed a new contract by the Scottish Football Association to take him to the 2027 World Cup, but the decision has now been made to leave the company with him.
With Nations League matches scheduled for February, the recruitment process is already underway to find his replacement.
Scotland’s women last reached a major tournament when Shelley Kerr’s side appeared at the 2019 World Cup in France. This was their second consecutive finals appearance.
Martinez Losa was appointed after Kerr’s side missed the upcoming European Championship, with the Spaniard also losing a World Cup play-off to the Republic of Ireland in 2022.
