In the latest development as per Pakistani media reports, it has been learned that Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has come up with a major development plan for cricket in the country. The Chairman will focus on improving T20I cricket.
Mohsin Naqvi will provide the ‘striking force’ to improve Pakistan’s T20 team. According to this, PCB will shortlist 50 young hard-hitting batsmen on the basis of merit from across the country and these batsmen will be selected by former all-rounder Abdul Razzaq.
The 50 batsmen will be selected and will be trained to hit long sixes and fours in attacking power
The 50 batsmen to be selected will be trained to hit long sixes and fours. The purpose of the strike force is to infuse fresh blood into the T20 squad of the Mohammad Rizwan-led side. Players will be developed and added to the national team during one year of training.
This will be a huge boost to all the young talent in the country that goes unnoticed. Apart from the Pakistan Super League, Strike Force will serve as a huge platform for young talents to showcase their talents and get a chance to represent the nation.

Pakistan have had poor outings in T20Is recently
This comes after the Men in Green’s poor performance in T20Is recently. They have faced disappointing series losses against the Australia national cricket team and the South Africa national cricket team as they build a new team in the shortest format of the game.
The youngsters who were selected for the team did not show much promise and could not move forward at all. Their poor effort with the bat was one of the main reasons for losing the series to the Australia national cricket team and the South Africa national cricket team.
The batting force will be a positive step in the development of the Pakistan team in T20Is
Strike Force will be a positive step in the team’s development. This will allow them to have a strong core for the ICC T20 World Cup 2026. In the T20 World Cup 2024, the Men in Green struggled to get going and were eliminated from the tournament in the group stage itself.
The PCB recently announced a change in leadership as well. Mohammad Rizwan has been appointed as the team’s new captain in white-ball cricket and so far, the wicketkeeper-batsman has done a fantastic job as the team under his leadership has won ODI series in Australia and South Africa.
Mohamed Rizwan will be keen to continue in the same form as captain in both formats. The goalkeeper’s first major assignment will be the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy, which will be a domestic tournament for them, and they will be looking to defend the title.
