Onkyo is reinventing Hi-Fi with new powered speakers and audio streaming

Onkyo has unveiled two new types of audio products in Consumer Electronics Show 2025as part of the reinvention of the hi-fi system, with powered speakers that can be paired with TVs and a series of streaming speakers.

New devices that follow Klipsch Flexus collaborationpowered monitors include the Onkyo GX10DB and Onkyo GX30ARC, as well as the Icon P-80 network amplifier, M-80 power amplifier, and A-50 network integrated amplifier.

The Creator Onkyo GX10DB ($199) and Onkyo GX30ARC ($299) active speakers are designed for desktop use, but provide enough input to use as a stereo system or even as a replacement for soundbars (GX30ARC). These include Bluetooth, USB-C, Optical, RCA/iPhone, RCA Sub Pre-Out, and Aux, while the GX30 adds HDMI.

The GX10 comes with a 3-inch, 17×2-watt woofer while the larger GX30ARC has a 25×2-watt woofer driving a 4-inch woofer. Both models have 3/4-inch woofers and wooden stands that help direct the speakers toward the users’ ears. Both sets of speakers are scheduled to launch in the spring.

Meanwhile, Onkyo’s new hi-fi products offer everything they can for streaming, with the P-80 network preamplifier ($1,999) and the A-50 network integrated amplifier ($1,499) at the top of the range. Onkyo Icon A-50 (140W per channel) looks very attractive as an all-in-one with its attractive design. Both devices will stream Spotify Connect, Tidal Connect, Amazon Music, AirPlay 2, and Google Cast, and are Roon ready. The M-80 ($1,999), with a 150-watt-per-channel amplifier and analog meters, is designed to be paired with the P-80. The hi-fi products are scheduled to launch in the fourth quarter of 2025.

Onkyo had streaming speakers in the past, but like many recent Onkyo products, they were a redesign of their Pioneer equivalents. These new devices are designed to re-establish the company’s identity and listen to its hi-fi components of the 1970s and 1980s in particular.
