Robotic vacuum cleaners are having a very strange year at CES 2025. We saw robot vacuums that can and . Now, another robot vacuum maker is showing off robot vacuums that can zoom with air purifiers, tablet holders, security cameras, tablet computers and other things on top.

The SwitchBot K20+ Pro is a robot vacuum cleaner that serves as a modular platform for other household appliances. The company describes it as a “multi-tasking” home assistant that can perform a range of tasks while also cleaning the floor.

The vacuum itself is mostly similar to a typical robot vacuum, if a little larger. It also has a connector on the top that supports a wide range of accessories or even devices. The company says it can support up to 8 kg — roughly 18 pounds — and will seamlessly connect to other SwitchBot devices like an air purifier or home security camera. The SwitchBot vac can then be programmed to follow you or stay in one place.

At the SwitchBot booth, I saw vacuums that had a tablet holder, an air purifier with an attached table top, and a security camera. But the company’s promotional materials also show a vacuum cleaner with a fan and a laundry basket on top. He also points out that the K20+ Pro can deliver drinks and carry small packages around the house.

A SwitchBot representative at the booth said the company wants to let people 3D print their own custom parts for the K20+ Pro so anyone can come up with their own use case for a small vacuum-powered device. A video was posted on the company’s website It even shows a vacuum cleaner with an arm that can pick up trash and deposit it in a trash can. (Yes, another robot vacuum cleaner .)

If this all sounds a little silly, that’s because it is. Although I can kind of understand the appeal of a robot vacuum that can also be used as a phone or tablet holder, I can’t imagine many scenarios when I’d want to use a floor-level fan or air purifier throughout my home.

I couldn’t see any of the SwitchBot vacuums actually moving in their chambers, so I have no idea how well any of this would work. It’s also not clear how much the K20+ Pro will cost when it goes on sale later this year, although the company is already selling some of its accessories, such as Combo.
