It’s not often that an actor on a successful anime project sits down and interviews its creator in his native language, but Netflix one piece Star Inaki Godoy did just that before the show Season two.
In a recent video from Netflix I still watch the YouTube channelactor Monkey D. Luffy Godoy sat with him Eiichiro Oda On a group of one piece Location of Cape Town, South Africa for discussion What lies ahead On the Grand Line in Season 2, and how Luffy became a beloved character.
“I watched some of the actual filming, especially the props, the huge sets, the special effects, the making of the wigs and costumes, and the stunts,” Oda said. “I saw a lot of things and was really touched by everyone’s dedication.”
When Godoy giddily asked Oda if he thought the acting was good, Oda politely replied, “It was.” Naturally, Godoy burst into contagious laughter, making Oda laugh in return. Godoy’s subsequent question, which was delivered in remarkably fluent Japanese even though he only started learning the language in January, queried Oda why he made the events of Season 2 so difficult to adapt, given that Straw Hat Season 1 was already a massive undertaking. There’s another question, pay attention, that made Oda laugh when Godoy commented on how “big and crazy” their adventure was before reaching the Grand Line.
“It’s hard or rough. I’m very tired,” Godoy said.
“In this universe, the Grand Line is the roughest of seas. We need to shock the audiences. That’s why there are giants, and of course, a lot of bounty hunters,” Oda answered, teasing the adventures that await us in the upcoming season. “This season should be full of elements New and surprising. That’s why it’s become more challenging.”
Godoy’s last question to Oda was how he came up with Luffy and made him a character full of depth and likable, even though he seemed like a simple fellow at first glance.
“Luffy is the poster child for me. When you become an adult and join a company, you can’t always do what you want. Entering society often means losing freedom. Luffy has the heart of a child, so he does what he wants,” Oda said. “Maybe this is The aspect, for adults already toiling in society, and for children about to enter society, is what makes Luffy so attractive.”
Oda was not short of compliments on Godoy’s approach in congratulating him for bringing Luffy back to life and energizing fans around the world. The two then share a loving embrace. It’s too sweet.

All we’ve seen of the hard-working reindeer is a shot of him from behind, confirming – to the dismay of some fans – that he won’t be a doll but a computer-generated little man. Hopefully next one piece The sit-down (or teaser trailer) will show off Chopper in all his cute glory.

in io9 review In the first season, we praised the Netflix show for not requiring viewers to invest in the anime to appreciate it, writing: “The show was clean. It was smooth. Everything fit together, and at the end of the season, despite Luffy screaming again, I wanted a second season.
In conjunction with a second live-action season, Netflix also has plans in the works to remake the anime titled One pieceanimated by WIT Studio. In short, this is a good time to get into it one piece– Whether it’s through a manga, a live-action show, an ongoing anime, or an upcoming remake.
