If you have seen Kraven the Hunter Or you’re just online, you might be aware of a strange moment that happens in the middle of the movie. After being informed that his comrades died trying and failing to kidnap the titular hunter, Alessandro Nivola’s Alexei Systevich lets out a scream that sounds like a dying machine of some sort. You’d think it was meant to set up his transformation into a unicorn later in the movie, or even get some sort of reaction from the best goons. But neither of those happen, so it exists as a weird moment in a movie that could happen More interesting In general.

What happened here? According to Nivola in a recent interview with Hollywood ReporterHe initially silently screamed during filming because he decided to at that moment. It apparently paid off because it made the crew laugh, and director J.C. Chandor later told him that the film would be kept in the final cut of the film. But at some point during post-production, things changed, and this weird sound it was making was something that was done in post-production. He thinks it’s not as effective as a quiet scream, and maybe he’s right, considering how much of a tradition it’s become over the past month.

In that same interview, Nivola offered some insight into why Craven I got slammed on coal. By his own account, being on set was “a really fun experience,” and he enjoyed “running around” with Chandor and co-star Christopher Abbott. (The three previously collaborated on the 2014 film Chandor The most violent year.) He said there didn’t seem to be any problems in the production from his perspective, and noted that some of the film’s problems “may have started to surface during editing. In this type of movie, you hear about all the disagreements in the studio, and there were probably a lot of cooks.”

Although Craven Negative reception, Nivola was taking a big step. He’s grateful for the reviews that complimented his performance, but other than that, he’s fine with avoiding the “black hole” that can be critical or fan feedback. This probably isn’t the only movie he’s appeared in recently: you can see it too Brutal and next room, Both are in theaters now, or will be later in January.
