NVIDIA has just unveiled the Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit, which is its successor From 2022. This new compact AI supercomputer can fit in the palm of your hand. The development kit includes an 8GB Jetson Orin Nano system module and a reference carrier board.
In terms of performance, the Jetson Orin Nano Super can reach 68 trillion operations per second (TOPS), an increase of 70 percent over its predecessor. NVIDIA also claims a 1.7x improvement in AI generative inference performance and a 50 percent bandwidth increase to 102GB/s. As for the CPU frequency, it is now 1.7 GHz, which is a modest increase compared to the 1.5 GHz frequency of its predecessor.
NVIDIA also claims to “deliver gains” on all popular generative AI models. These include large language models (LLMs), vision language models, and vision transformers.
Software updates for the Jetson Orin Nano Super can also enhance its predecessor, which is great news if you have the original Jetson Orin Nano. All you have to do is download the software and install the update. However, NVIDIA did not provide any details on how the performance of the older device will change.
The Jetson Orin Nano Super Developer Kit is currently available from NVIDIA authorized resellers. It’s currently priced at just $249, down from its predecessor’s $499 price tag, making it the most affordable product of its kind at the moment.
